The project focuses on how member economies regulate new and emerging nicotineand tobacco products through legislation and their regulatory measures, to shareexperiences and achievements on enforcement, the investigation of cross-borderonline marketing, developing inspection methods, and promoting youth awareness ofthe hazards of new and emerging nicotine and tobacco products through multiplechannels.

Chinese Taipei will host a conference in 2026 and invite APEC economies experts, andNGOs to participate, focusing on control strategies for emerging products.Furthermore, member economies, particularly developing economies should beempowered to obtain, share, strengthen, maintain and develop knowledge, abilities,skills and technical know-how to enhance their policies and regulations.
